Port Louis (Mauritius) – 23 October 2024
The African Hydrogen Partnership (AHP) is delighted to announce that AHP Board has appointed Mr. Raj Sawhney, CEO at Clearview Strategic Partners, as Leader of the AHP Modelling Team
Raj Sawhney (Leader AHP Modelling Team | CEO at Clearview Strategic Partners) stated,
I’m honored and excited to have been appointed to lead the AHP modeling team. Clearview and I look forward to contributing to the critical work of advancing hydrogen solutions across Africa. This role presents an exciting opportunity to apply our expertise in clean energy insights and data-driven modeling to support the African Hydrogen Partnership’s mission of developing sustainable hydrogen economies across the continent. Together with the talented AHP team, we aim to drive innovation, inform policy, and enable investment in hydrogen technologies that will foster economic growth and contribute to Africa’s clean energy transition.
Richard Kiplagat (Chairman AHP Advocacy Task Force | Group Chief Commercial Officer and MD East Africa at Africa Practice) said,
Our work in advocating for Green hydrogen is greatly enhanced and strengthened by empirical evidence. The appointment of Raj Sawhney as Leader of the AHP Modelling Team fundamentally supports our advocacy work and is a welcome addition to the AHP Membership.
Prof Bamidele Adebisi (AHP Director and AHP University Board Member | Head of Smart Infrastructure and Industry Research (SIIR) Group at Manchester Metropolitan University) emphasized,
Techno-economic and financial modelling are powerful tools that can be used to assess the viability of new technologies and projects. Mathematical representations of situations or problems combine technical, economic, commercial and financial data to create models that can be used to simulate different scenarios and make informed decisions. The models are used to evaluate the economic feasibility of new technologies, compare different technologies to each other or to identify the most cost-effective way to implement a new technology. Raj and his team contribute valuable quantitative capabilities essential for developing green and natural hydrogen sectors in Africa. The AHP Leadership Team greatly welcomes and supports Raj’s and his team’s work.
Akin Ande (AHP Head of Digital Innovation | CEO and Director at Tekinologi) said,
Congratulations, Raj, on your new role! This accomplishment highlights your remarkable talent, diligence, and commitment. Evaluating the economic viability of green and natural hydrogen projects requires quantitative skills to assess costs, revenues, and return on investment. To accurately assess the potential of green and natural hydrogen resources, such as renewable energy sources and geological formations, quantitative skills are necessary to analyze data, conduct modeling, and make informed decisions about resource development. I am excited to collaborate with you and witness the positive impact you will bring to the AHP team as we strive to foster a flourishing and successful hydrogen community in Africa.
Sandeep Pathak (Leader AHP Representation in India | Director at Hynexa) remarked,
Congratulations to Raj on his appointment as the leader of the AHP Modelling Team! We at Hynexa are thrilled to work alongside Raj, bringing our AI and data expertise to further strengthen AHP’s IT capabilities. Together, we can leverage advanced technologies and data-driven insights to drive innovation and enhance the efficiency of the AHP Modelling Team. We’re confident that with Raj’s leadership and our collaboration, AHP will achieve remarkable growth and success.
